Chenoa LaCaille’s life is grounded in the traditional teachings of the Haudenosaunee and Anishnabek nations. With over 15 years of experience, she has built her career on these values, working extensively in trauma-informed care, Play Therapy, and Equine-Assisted Therapy. Chenoa holds a Developmental Services Worker diploma and a Bachelor of Social Work with Honours. She has developed Indigenous-focused trauma curricula, including on-the-land programs, and delivers trauma-informed care training to Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities across Canada.Guided by the wisdom of Indigenous matriarchs like her mother Jeannine LaCaille, Kahehti:io Jan Longboat, and Sylvia Maracle, Chenoa continues to expand her knowledge and share her teachings. Her personal life is equally dedicated to Indigenous youth, as she and her partner became Customary Care parents at a young age, ensuring Indigenous children receive cultural grounding and a stable home environment. Today, they continue this practice, providing care for children in need while maintaining their commitment to Indigenous traditions and healing practices.
